Weekend Beer Treats

We start the weekend with two delicious offerings from the Marble Brewery, Pint and Draft. But be warned, the Draft went on last night and a lot if it was supped.

We also have the new IPA from Old School Brewery their Absent.

From Wentwell Brewery we have Little Tick and the popular Acer from the Bristol Beer Factory is making a welcome return.

For the cider drinkers we have Old Rosie and Henry Weston's Family Reserve.

Places are filling up on our outing to the Yorkshire Dales on 22 Sept (£12 pp) so please book asap. We have set a provisional date for our Christmas Markets and Real Ale outing of Sunday 1st December.

But for now, I've had this 1974 tune in my head all week, can't think why, so I thought I'd share it:

Beer Update

We are currently offering Privateer Dainty Blonde, a little Medieval Broad Sword, Grafton Golden Starr and the wonderful Chocolate Vanilla Stout from Titanic.

Next up will be Settle Classic, Swan Blonde and Hardknott Infra Red.

Don't forget the next Snug Outing which is on 22 September. It's looking like Settle and Skipton and home via Kirkby Lonsdale. All that for a mere £12!!

The following has nothing to do with the beer, I just think it's a hellishly cool song:

Tuesday Beer Update

We start with Ulverston Celebration Ale, Yeovil Ales Summerset and Privateer Roebuck. Joining them will be Barngates Brathay Gold then Deeply Vale Shipload IPA and Dancing Duck Aye Up.

It's the start of the Morecambe Beer Festival on Thursday, good luck to Lunesdale CAMRA, we're sure it will be a great success and look forward to popping along.

Please remember the next Snug Outing will be on Sunday 22 September. Timings to be confirmed but likely to be around 10-30am returning around 6-00pm. We will be trundling around the pubs and villages of the Yorkshire Dales.

We are in a period of light ales at the moment but don't worry dark ale drinkers, we will soon be taking delivery of a cask of Titanic Chocolate Chilli Porter.

Latest Beer and News

Many thanks to all who made our first birthday go with such a bang. Special thanks to our guest ukulele and saw players who had people singing along and even had the whole place doing the Time Warp! Special thanks to Mrs B for all her help but especially for making her debut guitar and vocal appearance, people loved it.

Now then a date for your diaries, Sunday September 22nd. Details to be finalised but that is the date of our next Snug Outing. We will be looking at visiting some decent hostelries in the picturesque villages of the Yorkshire Dales and a stop off at the Orange Tree in Kirkby Lonsdale on the way back. Please let us know if you would like to join us.

On the bar today we have Still Walking from Deeply Vale, Marble Draft, a little Marlpool Owd Sowj and the very refreshing Bauhaus from Stringer's.

Next up will be Bowness Bay Mere Gold, Marble Dobber and Ulverston Celebration Ale.

But if you prefer a spot of Bauhaus before you can get down to sample Stringer's then how about this?

A Year Ago Today...

..we were preparing to open our doors for the first time and what a journey the last year has been. We've met some wonderful people and had some wonderful times. Of course there have been a few downs, but they've been challenges that we've overcome and that add to life's experience.

We've won Lunesdale CAMRA's Pub of the Year Award for 2013 and we will be in the 2014 Good Beer Guide. We've been featured on Granada Reports and in Lancashire Life. We've had visits from people who have travelled many miles just to call in and we've had visits from numerous CAMRA branches.

So today, in true Snug fashion, we will be having an informal celebration of our first birthday. This evening we have invited anybody who plays an acoustic instrument to come along and join in the fun. We know we have a group of ukulele players coming and hopefully we will get at least a guitarist or two too! This evening we will be laying on a light buffet and Wigan Bob will be bringing along curry pies and black pudding. As ever there will be funds raised for Help for Heroes.

On the bar we have Grafton Heatwave, Kirkby Lonsdale Tiffin Gold, Andrew's Ales Wee Willy Wonky, Slater's Citrus and Ironbridge Kiwi Bitter. There is also Weston's Old Rosie and Country Perry.

So a huge thank you top all, customers/friends, brewers and everybody else we have come across in the last year. Hope you can join us at some point during the day and help us to celebrate our first birthday. In the meantime:
