Two weeks today and Euro 2016 kicks off with France playing Romania. You can get the full excitement of the competition by entering The Snug sweepstake which opens at 5 00pm tonight. For a mere fiver can draw one of the 24 countries in the competition. £60 of the entry fees will go to Help for Heroes, £40 will go to the holder of the winning country and £20 the runners up. A list of who has each country will be on the wall in The Snug so you can keep up to date with who is doing what as the tournament progresses. Good luck, especially whoever gets England.
Thank you all for another great Snug outing on Sunday. Yet again the sun shone on us as we relaxed and enjoyed beer, wine, cheese and Sunday dinners in Staveley and Cartmel, ending with an hour at The Factory Tap in Kendal, the pub which we were recently twinned with. Next trip will be to the East Lancashire Railway, details to be confirmed but will be early in September.
On the bar today we have:
Goddard's-Fuggle Dee Dum 4.8%
Kirkby Lonsdale-Jubilee Stout 5.5%
Hardknott-Nuclear Sunset 4.7%
Bowness Bay-Amazon Amber 3.8%
Marble-Earl Grey 6.8%
Next up Marble Ginger 5.1, Eden Blonde Knight and Hawkshead Windermere Pale.
Lancashire Dry Cider 7%
Weston's-Old Rosie 7.3%
In addition we have 7 bottled ciders from Aspall's, Thistly Cross, Thatcher's and Orchard Pig and up to 27 bottled and canned beers.
Hope to see you over the weekend. In the meantime here's one of my favourite football anthems:
