Wednesday was a great day out at the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival, which is on until tomorrow, I'd recommend you get there if you can. It was good to meet up with some of our regulars, some of the lads and lasses from some of the breweries and other micropubs we know and a mate I haven't seen for about 30 years. Quite a day and some wonderful beers.
Just a reminder to those who are joining us on our Liverpool trip on March 1st that payment is due by February 1st. If you have not yet booked we have about 10 places left and we expect them to go pretty soon now so get in touch sharpish if you would like to join us.
So, as we meander into the weekend we have the following beers on offer:
Chadwick's-Kirkland Blonde 3.6%
Black Paw-Polar Paw 4.4%
Fell-Patriot Wheat 4.5%
Hawkshead-ITI NZPA 3.5%
Double Top-Wonderland 4.4% (not a lot)
Abrahall's-Slack Alice 4.6% medium, still cider.
Next up Hawkshead IPA 7%

The Jaipur Maharaja Brass Band and Thornbridge
Another weekend is easing towards us and the weather is looking pretty, well, January I suppose. Grim, wet, hardly any real daylight throughout the day and we've just had a mini blizzard in Carnforth, a rare event indeed.
Due to a bit of a cock-up yesterday we are without our dear friend Old Rosie for the first time since we opened. I won't bore you with the details but we hope to have her back next week.
So, here's what's on the bar today:
Milk Street-Folklore 3.9%
Double Top-Old Stoneface Stout 6%
Weal Ales-Weals of Steele 5.1%

Places are going fast on our trip to Liverpool on Sunday March 1st. I would advise booking asap if you would like to join us.
Now for some fun:

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to all and let's hope it's a peaceful and prosperous one. Now the festivities are over it's back to business and we are taking bookings for our first Snug outing of 2015.
On Sunday 1 March we will be trundling along by charabanc to Liverpool to sample more of their many real ale pubs and shopping for those who prefer to waste their money! We will be leaving at 10 00am leaving to head back at 7 00pm. We are still awaiting confirmation of cost but don't expect it to exceed last year's price of £12pp. Payment will be required (non-refundable) by 1 February. Should the coach be fully booked by then non-payers will be replaced by others booking and paying.
Now then, what's on the bar today? Here we go:
Sonnet 43-India Pale Ale 4.4%
Oakham Citra 4.2% (but not a lot)
Three Peaks-Andrew's Smoked Ale 3.9%
Marble-Latzen 5.3%
Dark Star-American Pale Ale 4.7%
Original Cider Co-Monnshine 7.5%
Westons-Old Rosie Scrumpy 7.3%
Next up will be Dunscar Bridge Douglas Valley and Thornbridge Kipling.
In addition there are three red and three white wines and Prosecco (by the bottle). We also have a full range of soft drinks, tea and coffee.
Normal service is resumed now we have overcome our technical difficulties. So, one of the songs The Snug Ukulele Group are trying to master is Psycho Killer by Talking Heads. One day we may be even better than this:
