Christmas Fundraiser for St George's Memorial Church, Ypres
As Ypres was rebuilt at after World War I St George's Memorial Church was built to remember soldiers from Britain and the Commonwealth who died in the conflict. As part of the 100th anniversary commemorations St George's has launched an appeal to raise the money to have bells installed in the bell tower. Details can be found at : www.bells4stgeorge.org
Doors open as usual at 5 00pm, from 7 00pm we will be switching on our Christmas lights, offering cheese and port with a raffle and quiz.
We hope you can join us for a fun evening and help us to raise some money for a good cause.

Sunday December 4th
We will be closed on Sunday December 4th for our annual Christmas outing to Manchester. We still have a few places left, if you would like to join us please get in touch as soon as possible, cost is £14pp leaving at 10 30am.
On Thursday December 8th we have our informal Christmas fundraising evening in aid of St George Memorial Church, Ypres www.bells4stgeorge.org . Fun begins at 7 00pm.

Outing and Thai Street Food
This Sunday we have our annual outing to the East Lancs Railway where we will visit the Trackside Beer and Cider Festival and the World Black Pudding Throwing Championships at Ramsbottom. Cost is £12pp and there are still a few places left if you would like to join us.
As we will be away on Sunday The Snug will be closed this Sunday only.
Sunday 18 September we will be back open as usual from 12 30 until 4 30 with Thai Street Food available thanks to Thai Kitchen Cumbria. Delicious Thai curries, noodles and satay will be available from their mobile kitchen from opening time onwards.

Help for Heroes Euro 2016 Sweepstake
Thank you all for another great Snug outing on Sunday. Yet again the sun shone on us as we relaxed and enjoyed beer, wine, cheese and Sunday dinners in Staveley and Cartmel, ending with an hour at The Factory Tap in Kendal, the pub which we were recently twinned with. Next trip will be to the East Lancashire Railway, details to be confirmed but will be early in September.

Snug News
Our trip to Staveley and Cartmel on 22 May is filling up very quickly. We have booked a 57 seater coach but there are only 6 places left. We will be leaving The Snug at 11 15am due back around 8 00pm, cost is £12pp. Get in touch asap if you would like to join us.
As we hurtle towards St George's Day we are dusting off the bunting and flags ready for a day of fun and fundraising for Help for Heroes. Throughout the day we will be having quick quizzes and mini raffles with some fantastic prizes. There will be also be themed beers on the pumps including a tribute to William Shakespeare on his 400th birthday.
We should soon have some great news about The Snug and our friends at the Factory Tap, Bowness Bay Brewing Companies' excellent bar in Kendal. Can't say more at this stage but watch this space.
So with 5 beers, a selection of ciders and wines why not join us this afternoon and make the most of the sunshine.

Beer and a Trip to Chester
On March 6th we are running a Snug outing to Chester. Cost is £14pp and the coach departs at 10 00am, due back around 7 30pm. We still have spaces so please get in touch if you would like to join us.
In addition to our range of bottled Belgian and local beers we now stock 330ml cans of Fell Robust Porter and Tinderbox IPA. At £2.50 they are excellent value and are going really well.
